it turned out to be BS. NBK didn't hire him.
You seem to love pointing out the absurd and negative aspects of Kuwait. I'm wondering why you don't write about positive things in this country or negative things about your own country - you know, to sort of balance things out.
Go for it Kiwi!!! There isnt anything positive to talk about this slave trading arrogant and yet spineless excuse for a nation.I'm sure the negatives about Kiwwi's country are freely discussed and debated in the media and in the public.Unfortunately some people are so caught up in the government supported fiction that they are a privilidged people belonging to an exclusive imaginary wonderland club that the truth is a bitter pill to swallow...
There's lot of others writing critical things about my country of citizenship - try Russell Brown's Hard News (link on the right). But, you see in the West, being critical isn't necessarily perceived as being "negative". In fact that's a journalist's role. Whereas here in Kuwait, if you dare to voice an opinion that is critical of the status quo, or point out absurdities it's viewed as being "negative". Actually, the reason I analyse, think about, or highlight problems is because I'm sick of the crap. It just so happens that I'm living in Kuwait and surrounded by it. But every country has its problems. What really gets my blood boiling is the problems that are swept under the carpet here like the slave trade. What reaches the papers is just the tip of the iceberg.
I guess I could be accused as being an idealist - I want to change things for the better.
